FPNS Parent Link
June 2023
Welcome!
Welcome to the first FPNS Parent Link newsletter. Parent Link is a monthly roundup of all of the news from Finglas Parochial National School.
A Note from Ms. Adams
As my first year of principalship here in FPNS comes to a close, I would like to acknowledge the kindness and support shown to me by my colleagues here in the school and by the Board of Management. I am extremely grateful to be working with such kind and dedicated people and I look forward to working together again in the new school year. And of course, a huge thank you to all of the lovely families that make FPNS the lovely place that it is and who have welcomed me so warmly to the school.
I wish you all a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing everyone back on August 30th.
Rachel

Building Updates
- The school will also have the electricity system completely rewired in July and August.
- We will be replacing all of our existing classroom furniture shortly. Junior and Senior Infants had their tables and chairs replaced a few months ago and are very happy with the result! The rest of the classes will now follow and the furniture will be in place before the children's return in September.

School Reports
While the standardised test results will be shown on these reports, I would encourage you to remember that these tests are a single snapshot, taken on a single day, of your child's work on that day. The class teacher's assessment of your child's overall progress will better gauge how your child is doing in class.
While your child's result might be lower or higher than others, the goal we all have for our children is happiness, which, along with so many other things, cannot be measured by a standardised test.
