September Assembly
We had our first outdoor assembly at the end of September. The sun was shining and everyone was delighted to take part. 1st, 2nd and 3rd class lead the assembly with the theme of Friendship. We investigated the qualities that make a good friend and encouraged everyone to be a good friend. 3rd class performed a poem about Friendship and painted a beautiful Friendship web of ‘friendly connections’.
Thank you to the pupils of 4th, 5th and 6th; Lily-May and Astrid both put on a fabulous gymnastic display while Samuel and Patrick demonstrated their badminton talents.

6th Class Graduation 2021
6th class put on a fantastic show for their class graduation. They sang 'Don't Stop Believing' and each shared some memories from their time in Finglas Parochial NS. 6th class also made a graduation video which includes some music performances and stories/memories. They each received a copy of the video which they now have as a keep sake and a memory of their time in primary school. Thank you to Mr Brosnan and Ms Reilly who did a fantastic job putting both the video and the graduation service together. Thank you also to 6th class who have been a wonderful class and great role models to the younger classes. You will be missed by us all here in Finglas Parochial and we wish you all the best as you begin secondary school this September.
School Fundraiser: Junior Triathlon June 2021
What are we raising money for?
We are raising money for our very own Sensory Outdoor Learning Area.
At the back of the school we have a very overgrown garden area. Over the next year or two, we plan (with everyone's help) to transform this into a fun outdoor learning space that is inclusive for all our pupils and their needs. We will share each step of our plan with you all and we will of course be looking for volunteers along the way. We're still at the early planning stage- this area won't come together over night, it is going to take time, hard work and of course funding! We hope to source funding from different areas but some funding will come from within the school. We will be including the whole school community in this fun project.
Tell us about the fundraiser?
We decided to kick off our project with a fun school fundraiser, a Junior Triathlon. The children were sponsored to complete a set of 3 physical challenges (all of which were adapted according to age and ability). Thank you very much to all who kindly donated. The children had great fun taking part in our fundraiser.
Below are some snaps of the infants classes completing their physical challenges:

Christmas Carol Singing
September 2020
The staff and pupils of Finglas Parochial are delighted to be back in school. Our preparation for reopening has paid off and we were delighted to open our doors once again on 26th August. There have been many changes about the school to ensure the protection of our staff and pupils. The children have been fantastic and have adapted quickly to our new routines. The most important thing is we have our pupils back learning in the classroom and enjoying school life. Thank you to all staff and parents for your support the past few weeks and months.

Book Fair 25th February - 3rd March 2020
We've all been enjoying having the Book Fair in our school this week and would like to thank everyone for their support. We were delighted to see so many pupils dressed up as a book character on Friday. The whole school gathered in the hall where each class was given the opportunity to remind us of their many different book characters. As usual the creativity of the pupils was really impressive. One pupil from each class was awarded with a book of their choice, based on originality and effort.
Congratulations to everyone for making it a great day.
Christmas Craft Making
The children had a great time making Christmas crafts for the School Craft Fair on Wednesday 18th December. Thank you to all the parents who came along to help out. It was great to have the extra helping hands and the children especially loved making crafts with our parent helpers. Our parents committee did a wonderful job collecting and preparing all the materials for the crafts.
